Baringa hires two partners in US digital and technology practice

Baringa, a London-headquartered management consulting firm, has hired Kim Sorensen and Pratyush Lal as partners in its US digital and technology practice.

Sorensen and Lal will lead the expansion of the practice, which recently integrated the staff of Dallas-based technology consultancy Altruas.

Sorensen is based in Houston and has 25+ years of experience in enterprise software, IT outsourcing, and consulting in the energy sector.

She previously spent 11 years at KPMG, where she was a principal in the CIO advisory practice leading large-scale technology transformations. Before that, Sorensen built a managed services practice for energy sector capital projects at Wipro.

Earlier in her career, Sorensen was a program manager at SAIC and a project manager at Reliant Energy Communications.

Lal brings nearly 25 years of experience leading digital, data, AI, and strategic transformations for companies in retail, manufacturing, telecom, financial services, and consumer products.

He joins from FTI Consulting, where he spent eight years and was a senior managing director and head of the global data and technology transformation practice.

Before that, Lal was a director in the professional services practice of Informatica and Stibo Systems.

“Kim’s deep experience in energy and large-scale transformations, combined with Pratyush’s substantial expertise in building digital and AI practices and positioning firms in the market, will be instrumental as we continue to expand our presence in the US,” said Mansi Patel, global lead, capabilities for Baringa.

Baringa was founded in 2000 and has more than 2,000 employees, according to LinkedIn. The firm has offices in Europe, APAC, and North America, with US offices in New York, Charlotte, Chicago, and Houston.

Baringa has practices in strategy, finance, operations, supply chain, technology, and cybersecurity, among other areas, and works with clients in retail and consumer, energy and resources, financial services, life sciences, public sector, and TMT.
