Sikich acquires Burwood Group
Sikich, a Chicago-based accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Burwood Group, a Chicago-based IT consulting and integration firm.
Founded in 1997, Burwood provides services in data and application cloud, network, security consulting, customer experience, modern work, AI, training, and managed services. The firm works with clients in financial services, higher education, healthcare, government, and manufacturing.
Burwood has more than 200 employees listed on LinkedIn and three offices in the US.
Sikich’s acquisition of Burwood will bring increased technical breadth and depth across its tech stack, the firm said in a press release.
“Burwood Group brings a strong pedigree and track record in anticipating what customers need, delivering outcomes, and nurturing long-term client relationships,” said Christopher Geier, chairman and CEO of Sikich.
Sikich has approximately 2,000 people across 19 offices in the US and India. It is the 25th-largest CPA firm in the US, according to Inside Public Accounting, with annual revenue of $438.9 million.
“We’re bringing together two brands with highly complementary offerings around digital transformation, and we’re excited about bringing more value to our clients,” said Jim Hart, president of Burwood Group.
Sikich is a privately held, employee-owned firm. Bain Capital acquired a $250-million minority stake in the firm in 2024.
