RGP promotes Rebecca Cottrell to chief legal officer

RGP, a Dallas-based management consulting firm, has promoted Rebecca Cottrell to chief legal officer.

Based in Orange County, Cottrell will continue to lead the company’s legal and corporate governance functions in an expanded role.

Cottrell has more than a decade of legal experience. She joined RGP in March 2021 as associate general counsel and was named general counsel and corporate secretary in June 2025. During her tenure with the consultancy, Cottrell has advised executive leadership and the board on strategic, operational, and governance priorities.

In her expanded role, she will help drive alignment across governance, talent, and business priorities, RGP said in a press release.

Prior to joining RGP, Cottrell spent six years with O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where she was senior counsel within the executive compensation and employee benefits practice group.

She holds a juris doctor and master of laws from Loyola Law School.
