Janice Pinson to lead Maine Pointe Academy into next phase
Operations and supply chain consulting firm Maine Pointe has appointed Janice Pinson as head of Maine Pointe Academy. The main objective of the position is advancing and commercializing the firm’s proprietary intellectual knowledge.
Pinson has been with Maine Pointe since 2016, when she joined the firm from talent management consultancy Career Partners International. Before being named head of the Academy unit, she led the Maine Pointe’s talent acquisition and talent development activities.
Maine Pointe Academy was set up in 2015 to provide support and personal growth opportunities for its consultants. The Academy also helps the consultancy build and transfer knowledge to its clients, allowing them to operate standalone once Maine Pointe’s consultants have completed their engagements.
“Learning and development are essential to the growth of our team, our clients and their suppliers,” Pinson said. “By allowing team members to more easily advance their personal and professional development, Maine Pointe will be able to continue delivering outstanding results to its clients.”
While focusing on talent management, Pinson has been actively involved with the development of the Academy since inception, making her the ideal candidate for the unit’s next phase of growth. “She will now focus 100% of her time on building out the Academy to bring further value,” Steven Bowen, Maine Pointe CEO, said.
Founded in 2004, Maine Pointe has offices on three continents. The business is trusted by executives and private equity firms to drive economic returns for their companies, across procurement, logistics, and operations.
"Janice is a proven leader whose skills and insights have been essential to Maine Pointe’s 'Drive for 2025' plan," Bowen said.
Before serving Maine Pointe and Career Partners International, Pinson held senior roles with two mid-size organizations, where she was responsible for introducing performance and talent management systems to develop individuals. She also served Arthur Andersen Consulting – today trading as Accenture – for seven years.
Total Value Optimization
Alongside professionalizing the unit, Pinson has been handed the task of turning Maine Pointe Academy into a revenue-generating business unit. The firm has the ambition to capitalize on its proven Total Value Optimization framework (an end-to-end approach for supply chain management used by a growing roster of leading organizations) by launching a certification and accreditation program for the methodology.
“Total Value Optimization helps clients rapidly break through functional silos and transform the buy-make-move-fulfill supply chain to deliver the greatest value to customers and investors at the lowest cost to business,” Bowen said.
