Maine Pointe adds aviation, aerospace & defense expert David Grasso
Global supply chain and operations consultancy Maine Pointe has appointed David Grasso as executive vice president and industry leader for aviation, aerospace & defense. He brings more than 30 years of consulting experience, and will be based in the Washington, DC area.
As EVP and industry leader, Grasso will work to expand Maine Pointe’s aviation, aerospace & defense practice while advising on growth-oriented client projects. During his more than three-decade consulting career, Grasso has worked along the entire value chain, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain across the US, Europe, and Asia, and has a long track record of advising on successful business transformation, operational optimization, and profitable growth in the aviation, aerospace & defense industry.
His significant accomplishments include the elimination of millions of man hours from the design, planning, and construction of naval vessels for a shipbuilder, resulting in a 20%+ reduction in total cost for the US Navy. He was also the business and supply chain architect for the first aerospace B2B exchange, which streamlined procurement operations and achieved savings in sourcing, spare parts management, and supply chain operations.
Grasso joins Maine Pointe from Capgemini, where he spent more than four years as leader of the firm’s North American aerospace & defense sector practice. While at Capgemini, he built up the industry leadership team, brought new consulting offerings to market, and helped drive compound annual growth of more than 20% during his tenure at the firm.
Before that, Grasso was a partner at Wipro Consulting, Techedge USA, and IBM. He started his consulting career at Accenture in 1990, where he spent 15 years and rose to the level of partner.
Prior to entering the consulting industry, Grasso served in the US Navy, where we was a petty officer, first class. He holds a bachelor of science and mechanical engineering from Drexel University.
“One of our greatest strengths is our ability to bring on the most talented executive leaders with years of real-world experience driving value for clients,” Steven Bowen, chairman and CEO of Maine Pointe, said. “David brings powerful insights to the table, and a proven track record of driving lasting value, positive ROI, and meaningful, sustainable growth. His appointment will prove essential in our continuing efforts to drive value in this segment.”
Grasso commented, “Over the course of my career, it has been rewarding to work with global clients along the entire value chain to tackle real-world operational issues, and produce results that have delivered value, savings, and new capabilities to the private sector, the military, and the taxpayer as well.”
