Baker Tilly Digital launches to drive successful transformations
Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, a Chicago-based accounting and consulting firm, announced the launch of Baker Tilly Digital. The digital arm brings together the firm’s analytics and advanced technology services under one capability suite.
“Disruption is all around us and digital transformation is at the top of the list for many of our clients,” Alan D. Whitman, CEO of Baker Tilly, said. “Keeping pace with new technology and making decisions today to shape tomorrow is never easy. We lean into and guide our clients through the complexities of digital disruption and the possibilities it brings.”
Baker Tilly Digital will offer a range of technical consulting services, including data analytics, connected devices and internet of things, digital change management, AI and blockchain, cloud transformation, and automation services.
Companies that embrace the above technologies can presumably expect to become more efficient, effective, and transparent. The firm reported an engagement with a Fortune 50 aerospace and defense firm, wherein advanced analytics were deployed to improve processes and efficiency. Prior to the engagement, the client’s analytics manager was manually monitoring 52 planes; afterwards they could actively monitor 500 planes while freeing up 50% of their time.
The Digital unit will also feature Digital Labs, an incubator for the ideation and development of advanced tools and solutions.
Consulting firms are scrambling to expand their transformation offerings as client demand for such services continues to balloon. According to data from Market Study Report LLC, the North American digital transformation market was worth $166.07 billion in 2017, and is expected to increase at a CAGR of 22.1% between 2018 and 2025 to reach $757.63 billion.
“Baker Tilly Digital leverages the synergy between our technology-related services and our traditional management consulting and advisory capabilities,” John Runte, principal and leader of Baker Tilly Digital, said. “It is another significant way we can enhance and protect our clients’ value.”
As one of the largest CPA and consulting firms in the United States, Baker Tilly offers a full suite of assurance, tax, and consulting services – from strategy to human capital to investigations. The firm has 3,350 employees across more than 30 global offices.
