Bjorn Pettersen joins Point B's financial services practice
Bjorn Pettersen has joined the financial services practice at management consulting firm Point B, taking on the role of customer executive.
Pettersen brings more than 25 years of consulting and industry experience in financial services to the practice’s leadership team in New York.
A noted expert in risk management and regulatory compliance, Pettersen has supported major banks and Wall Street firms, insurance companies, and regulators during his consulting career. He previously spent eight years across tech consultancies TCS, Accenture, and IBM Global Services, where he was a management consulting partner, managing director, and practice head of risk management & compliance consulting, respectively.
Before that, he spent nine years at Charles River Associates, where he was latterly practice leader of enterprise risk consulting. He also was previously a partner at KPMG US, where he spent six years. Earlier in his career, Pettersen was a VP and derivatives trader at ABN AMRO and First National Bank of Chicago.
Pettersen has also lectured at Northwestern University and served as an adjunct professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He holds an MS in finance and economics from the Norwegian School of Management and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management.
“Bjorn’s deep experience in Financial Services is a win for Point B’s customers in New York and beyond,” said Mike Lee, leader of Point B’s financial services practice. “He brings a combination of broad industry expertise coupled with an acute understanding of the real-life challenges organizations are facing today – and the specific knowledge to solve them successfully.”
The Seattle-based consultancy earlier this year launched a strategy disruption response offering to help companies tackle the challenges of Covid-19 – and sort out whether their business models are still viable in the "new normal."
The firm last year named Brian Turner as president of consulting and Duncan James as chief growth officer.
Point B provides consulting services in strategy, organizational change, design & creative, data & analytics, and real estate development. The employee-owned firm has more than 800 employees across over a dozen offices in the United States.
