Point B buys ESG specialist Sustainable Business Consulting
Point B, a national management consulting firm, has acquired Sustainable Business Consulting (SBC), a Seattle-based environmental, social, and governance (ESG) consultancy.
Founded in 2004, SBC helps clients across industries develop their ESG goals, key performance indicators, and strategies for implementation, as well as communicate sustainability efforts internally and externally. The firm has worked with more than 240 clients on projects in climate and carbon emissions strategy, ESG strategy and goals, and external reporting.
SBC has 20 employees listed on LinkedIn. Its client roster includes The North Face, Whole Foods, Delta Airlines, and New York Life.
Point B’s acquisition of SBC will expand its ESG offering, particularly in climate action, supply chain risk, ESG reporting, regulatory compliance, and integrated strategy.
“This is an exciting next stage for Point B and our ESG practice, advancing our vision to be an impact-oriented organization,” Migita said. “Adding SBC’s values-driven culture, deep talent, and thought leadership to Point B’s ESG practice creates an immediate opportunity to make a bigger impact on humanity and the environment.”
Point B’s ESG and social impact practice helps clients design and implement climate action plans and purpose-driven business models, as well as identify and integrate digital tools that accelerate positive change.
“The speed of change is increasing; programs and initiatives around transparency and reporting like deep Scope 3 assessments and meaningful supplier engagement will place a great deal of stress on organizations which have not begun to take steps to meet reporting requirements,” said Ruth Lee, senior vice president at SBC. “We are doing the work now, building our capacity and talent to meet the challenge.”
Point B is headquartered in Seattle and has more than 1,000 employees across over a dozen offices nationwide. The firm advises on strategy and operations, digital transformation, enterprise technology, M&A, and organizational effectiveness, among other areas.
Endeavour, a Portland, OR-based private equity firm, earlier this year took a significant equity stake in Point B.
