SGS Maine Pointe's Dorothea Grimes-Farrow wins two leadership awards
Dorothea Grimes-Farrow, a senior consultant at supply chain specialist SGS Maine Pointe, has been recognized as one of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2022 Women in Supply Chain and one of Consulting Magazine’s Women Leaders in Consulting 2022.
Supply & Demand Chain Executive selected Grimes-Farrow as part of a group of women leaders who have excelled in helping clients meet the unique challenges of today’s supply chain. Consulting Magazine selected Grimes-Farrow in its “Excellence in Client Service” category, recognizing deep consulting expertise and a track record of strong results for clients facing complex and challenging issues.
“We are proud to acknowledge our own women supply chain leaders at SGS Maine Pointe, and it came as no surprise that Dorothea received not just one, but two separate recognitions this month for her outstanding work and status as a supply chain and consulting leader,” said Jeff Staub, CEO of SGS Maine Pointe. “Her accomplishments are often acknowledged by our clients as well, who appreciate the lasting value she brings to their organizations. Dorothea embodies the very ethos of SGS Maine Pointe, as well as the accomplishments and advancement of women in our field.”
Grimes-Farrow has extensive expertise in supply chain operations, product development, and change management. Based in Athens, GA, she has been a senior consultant in Maine Pointe’s supply chain operations and product development practice since 2017.
Her engagements at the firm include helping an organization that was late to market 50% of the time to realize a 200% improvement in time-to-market while freeing up cash for product investments. Another client engagement involved helping a company break down siloed functional operations to produce consensus decision-making, forecast and supply balance, and increased forecast reliability.
Prior to Maine Pointe, Grimes-Farrow spent eight years at Cisco, where she was a director of supply chain operations based in the tech giant’s San Jose headquarters. Before that, she spent eight years at Avaya, a provider of cloud communications and workstream collaboration services, where she was technical director and general manager of supply chain operations.
Grimes-Farrow has a doctorate in science and technology from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Southern University and A&M College.
“Much of my success, beyond being driven by my expertise and background, comes from authentically listening to my clients and colleagues,” said Grimes-Farrow. “Experience, filtered through the lens of a female leader, can also offer new perspectives. And finally, data is always your friend when analyzing complex problems and finding solutions. I am pleased to be acknowledged with these awards, and look forward to continuing to serve the needs of my clients at SGS Maine Pointe.”
