Lisa Johnston joins SBI's board of directors

Lisa Johnston, chief marketing officer of logistics software firm Auctane, has joined the board of directors of SBI, a Dallas-headquartered sales and marketing consulting and benchmarking firm.

Based in Austin, Johnston is a seasoned marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience in consulting and technology.

"Lisa is a highly experienced marketer, exceptional communicator, and strategic advisor who has excelled in the role of CMO within high-velocity and enterprise sales organizations,” said Mike Hoffman, CEO of SBI, said. “Her addition to the board will play a pivotal role in driving SBI's growth not only in 2023 but also in the years ahead.”

Prior to joining Auctane last year, Johnston spent four years at industrial software firm Aveva, where she served as CMO and chief sustainability officer. She was responsible for brand leadership, customer and prospect engagement, and go-to-market innovation, as well as establishing Aveva’s first ESG strategy.

Before that, Johnston spent over three years within the consulting arm of Vista Equity Partners, where she was a managing director leading marketing for more than 50 portfolio companies.

Earlier in her career, Johnston spent 15 years at IBM, where she was latterly global CMO for IBM Power Systems.

She has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

SBI was founded in 2006 and was acquired by CIP Capital in 2020. The consultancy advises clients on growth strategy (revenue model, go-to-market model, and customer experience) and growth execution (sales, revenue marketing, pricing and packaging, customer success, and talent). SBI also provides sales-focused data and benchmarking solutions.

The firm has offices in Dallas and Amsterdam, and more than 340 employees, according to LinkedIn.
