Chartis, a Chicago-based healthcare consultancy, has reestablished the former brand of its medical staff services departments (MSSDs) business line – Greeley. The firm also appointed Tim Barger as president of Greeley.

Chartis in 2019 acquired The Greeley Company, a Boston-based healthcare advisory firm. Following the acquisition, it was rebranded as Chartis Clinical Quality Solutions.

The business today has over 200 professionals providing consulting and managed services for MSSD operations and credentialing, privileging, and enrolment processes; physician leadership education; and interim staffing for chief medical officer, medical staff services, and compliance roles.

Barger previously led the interim staffing practice at Greeley. He has 25 years of experience in sales and recruiting, process optimization, and talent development. Before Greeley, Barger was SVP for operations at ACS Group and chief sales officer at Vision Technology Services, Clovis, and Eliassen Group.

“Medical Services Professionals (MSPs) are the backbone of healthcare organizations—they influence profitability, efficiency, productivity, and care delivery,” Barger said. “I look forward to working with our talented team and clients to help medical staff services functions achieve their full potential, contributing to elevated operational performance and the best quality of care."

Chartis works with healthcare providers, payers, technology innovators, retail firms, and investors on strategy and M&A, care delivery transformation, financing transformation, communications, and clinical quality solutions.

The firm has more than 1,000 employees across offices in Chicago, Boston, New York, and San Francisco.

Chartis earlier this year acquired HealthScape Advisors, a Chicago-based healthcare payer consulting firm.
