BDO launches government services subsidiary
BDO USA has launched BDO Government Services, a wholly owned subsidiary serving state and municipal clients in the continental US and Puerto Rico.
The practice will focus on guiding state and municipal clients on federal-funded programs in natural disaster recovery, pandemic, and energy programs.
The new subsidiary is a result of BDO’s acquisition of Horne, which finalized on November 1. The Jackson, MS-based accounting and consulting firm’s government services practice comprises the lion’s share of the new subsidiary, which also includes BDO’s pre-existing government services offering.
BDO Government Services has a team of 700+ professionals in the US and Puerto Rico advising on administration of CDBG-DR funding; implementation of housing, infrastructure, and economic development programs; and FEMA hazard mitigation grant programs and public assistance.
“The integration of HORNE’s government services practices and professionals solidifies BDO Government Services as a leader in building efficient governments to best serve their constituents,” said Andrea Espinola Wilson, BDO USA managing principal, industry specialty services.
Neil Forbes, former managing partner of Horne, will serve as national practice leader of BDO Government Services.
“We are thrilled to officially join forces and launch our government services practice. This milestone marks a new chapter, enabling us to deliver even greater value, efficiency, and advanced technology to our clients,” Forbes said.
