Armanino, a national accounting and consulting firm, has launched a strategic marketing outsourcing (SMO) service as part of its wider outsourcing business.

The new service is a response to growing demand from businesses seeking outsourcing support – especially as firms look to reduce costs amid higher cost of capital.

Armanino’s SMO practice will leverage partnerships and in-house resources to support chief marketing officer (CMO) needs, from brand marketing strategy to marketing technology implementation. The firm’s advertising and communications division – AMF Media Group – has capabilities in SEO, social media marketing, video, digital ads, mobile support, CRM, email marketing, branding, copywriting, and event support.

The practice’s three-phased approach comprises a strategic vision and assessment of client growth initiatives; development of an internal messaging and activation plan; and execution with specific feedback and optimization.

Armanino has selected director Keith McNichols to lead the SMO practice. McNichols, who joined Armanino’s consulting business last year, has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and communications, including over 20 years at Disney, where he was latterly director of corporate alliances.

“In today’s shifting marketplace, it’s more important than ever to have a strong strategic marketing plan that results in measured success for each aspect that clients invest in,” said McNichols. “To find success in-house requires a significant investment of time and money. As a leader in providing growth-focused outsourcing services, Armanino now offers its Strategic Marketing Outsourcing service to bring firms the same resources and capabilities that a full-fledged marketing team would, from growth-focused plans to customer-focused creative services, backed by the power and entrepreneurial spirit of Armanino.”

The San Ramon, CA-based firm’s outsourcing business has offerings in accounting, tax, strategic finance, human resources, and application managed services.

Armanino earlier this year expanded its business management practice with the acquisition of Nashville-based music business management firm Blue Sky Group and music rights and royalty auditing firm Royalty Compliance Organization (RCO).

Armanino is the 21st largest accountancy in the US, according to Inside Public Accounting, with more than 2,500 employees and annual revenue of $444.1 million.
