Paiman Farrokhvar, a senior data analytics consultant at SGS Maine Pointe, has been recognized as a 2023 Rising Star of the Profession by Consulting Magazine.

Now in its eighth year, Consulting Magazine’s Rising Star awards recognize consultants under age 35 who are shaking up the industry in impactful ways and redefining the profession.

Commenting on the award in an interview with the publication, Farrokhvar said the biggest factors driving his success as a data consultant have been his “passion for problem-solving” and his “commitment to delivering value” to clients. A key part of this is taking the time to fully understand the challenges and goals of clients, Farrokhvar said.

The data consultant – who has been at SGS Maine Pointe’s Los Angeles office since 2018 – says he has had the satisfaction of building close relationships with numerous clients and positively impacting their supply chain and operations with data-driven solutions.

The firm’s data analysts, architects, and BI experts use advanced tools to carry out mining, analysis, modeling, and predictive techniques to drive deep insights, operational improvements, and business advantage.

Farrokhvar highlighted the two best pieces of advice he has received from mentors during his career. The first is the Golden Rule – treat others as you would like to be treated. Farrokhvar says this “promotes kindness, respect, and encourages people to be mindful of how their words and actions impact others.”

The second is to be comfortable being uncomfortable. “This helps you grow personally and professionally,” he said. “It’s a reminder that growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone.”

Before joining SGS Maine Pointe, Farrokhvar spent five years as a logistics engineer at Transplace – a managed transportation and logistics platform that was acquired by Uber in 2021 for $2.25 billion.

He has a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas and a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran.

Headquartered in Boston, SGS Maine Pointe has more than 200 people across offices in the US, Canada, UK, Switzerland, and China. The firm delivers consulting services in supply chain optimization and risk management, operational excellence, data analytics, and mergers and acquisitions, among other areas.
