HKA, a global risk and disputes consulting firm, has hired Hatem Bedair, PhD, as a Houston-based director in its forensic engineering practice.

Bedair is a civil/structural engineering expert with more than 25 years of experience designing and managing a variety of infrastructure projects. He also has experience in project management, project proposals, contract negotiations, and coordination of the bidding process for projects throughout the United States and Egypt.

He has expertise in finite element analysis, seismic analysis, earthquake-resistant design, friction-damping systems, foundation design, soil-structure interaction, and structural design optimization.
