Peak Performance Project improves data insights to professional athletes

Peak Performance Project, a company that uses data insights to enhance the performance of athletes, has worked together with Elixirr on the implementation of a next-gen data management system.

Founded by Harvard-trained physician Marcus Elliott, Peak Performance Project is a pioneer in data-driven athlete development, providing detailed assessments and development plans designed to extend athletes’ careers and reduce injury risks.

The company’s proprietary process utilizes 3D motion capture and force plate technology to assess performance and help develop tailored training regimens to ensure optimum results. Leveraging this approach, Peak Performance Project has helped thousands of professional athletes in the NBA, NFL and MLB, among others, enhance their performance.

In an effort to improve its data-driven way of working, Peak Performance Project recently launched a project to transform its data management governance. Appointed as the consulting partner, Elixirr helped Peak Performance Project design and implement a new system and related processes, significantly reducing processing times and automating workflows.

The new Microsoft Fabric-based data management system allows for more efficient handling of larger data volumes and seamless integration of modern technologies. Moreover, the project has accelerated the migration of existing data infrastructure elements to the Azure platform, which boosts efficiency and cost effectiveness, while providing more opportunities for scaling the business.

With these advancements, Peak Performance Project can now deliver crucial insights to players and teams, and leagues more quickly, reducing turnaround times for athletes’ assessments from 4-6 hours to under 30 minutes.
