West Monroe grows Costa Rica team to 100 employees
West Monroe, a Chicago-headquartered management and technology consulting firm, yesterday announced that its Costa Rica team has reached 100 employees.
The firm celebrated the milestone with an event on July 30 that was attended by Costa Rica-based employees and several West Monroe leaders.
West Monroe gained its Costa Rican operations in 2021 when it acquired Verys, a digital product engineering firm.
The small team has since then grown to over 100 full-time employees specializing in software and data engineering, business analysis, data and cloud platforms, and various internal functions.
West Monroe plans to more than triple its Costa Rican team by 2027 – although the Chicago consulting firm says the plans are “designed to enhance, not replace, West Monroe’s US-based teams.”
The firm has 2,250 people across nine offices in the United States, alongside international offices in London and San Jose, Costa Rica.
"Early on, we saw the incredible talent and potential in the Costa Rica team," said Brian Paulen, head of offices and global enterprise services at West Monroe. "What started as a smart and strategic bet has evolved into a vital part of our business.”
West Monroe in a press release said that it has prioritized building a nearshore team instead of offshoring – citing the benefits of shared time zones and cultural alignment.
“Clients consistently ask for more of our Costa Rica talent because they’re engaging, problem-solvers, and becoming true extensions of our clients’ teams. It’s exciting to see where we’re headed as we continue to grow," said Cristhian García, leader of the Costa Rica office.
West Monroe earlier this summer hired ex-Accenture executive Harin Shetty as president and board member.
